Emmerdale fans fume ‘what a joke’ as character exits after 15 years in emotional scenes
Emmerdale's Angelica King discovered her punishment for accidentally killing Heath Hope as she exited the Dales – but fans were less than pleased with the sentence she received
Emmerdale fans fumed as Angelica King bid farewell to the Dales.
During Wednesday’s episode (March 13) of the ITV soap, Angelica’s (Rebecca Bakes) hearing finally arrived. The teenager was facing a custodial sentence after accidentally killing Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) on New Year’s Eve.
At the hearing, the judge confirmed Angelica would be receiving a custodial sentence as there was “no alternative” due to the nature of the crime. But he revealed it would be considerably shorter due to her guilty plea and previous statements.
Angelica was sentenced to eight months at a secure children’s home. Later in the episode, it was revealed the teenager was being sent to a home in Bristol – a four-hour drive away from the village.
A fourth shared: “8 f**king months, is that all?” Echoing this, someone else declared: “8 MONTHS !! Bloody ridiculous… back in time for Christmas.. recast probably.”
A sixth agreed: “8 months for causing someone else’s death, what a joke.” Others questioned how Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) has managed to get away without punishment, given that she was the one who stole the car in the first place.
One wrote: “Really don’t get how Angelica is taking the brunt of the punishment when Cathy stole the car in the 1st place. If she hadn’t stolen it then Angelica would never have driven it.”
Another fumed: “It’s such a load of bo****ks that Cathy has gotten way with her part in this. She caused most of it. A third added: “What about Cathy then. She drove the car away. Surely she’d be in court for something. #Emmerdale writers can’t remember what they wrote a few weeks ago.”
