Emmerdale fans ‘realise’ what’s happened to missing Mack after John hospital scene

Fans are convinced Mackenzie Boyd could be in danger on Emmerdale, after believing they spotted him at the hospital in the latest episode.

Villain John Sugden visited a mystery man in a coma shown in a hospital bed during Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap. But as some fans failed to recognise the man, believing he was someone new, other fans were convinced it was a familiar face.
On first glance, several viewers were sure that the man in the bed was none other than ‘missing’ Mackenzie. The brother of Moira Dingle and partner of Charity Dingle hasn’t been onscreen much this week.

There’s concern surrounding the character because of a flashforward that aired back in December, showing the character running through the woods. He looked panicked and as though he was sprinting away from something or someone.

Fans have long suspected it is linked to John and that Mack will be in danger, amid theories John is a serial k.i.l.l.e.r and has m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d Nate Robinson. With Mack offscreen and his big scene yet to air, some viewers are now predicting that Mack is the man in the bed, and John has done something to him.

No one has suggested Mack is actually missing in the village, and the man does appear to be someone entirely different – while there is a big resemblance to Mack. But fans can’t help but suspect it’s Mack in the bed, and he could d.i.e.

One viewer shared the following theory online: “Mack wasn’t it?” as another asked: “Was that Mackenzie at the end??” A third fan theorised: “I’ve just watched and said aloud ‘is that Mack’ because it did kind of look like him!”

Another post read: “I thought it was Mack,” backed by another viewer who commented: “I’ve just watched and thought it was Mack too.” A further theory read: “At first when I saw the beard I thought oh my God is it Nate?? And then I saw Mack… but now I don’t think it is Mack… or is it??”

The twist comes amid new flashbacks and details set to be revealed about John’s past, and what he’s hiding. In a scene kept secret until the episode aired, John’s struggles led him to a hospital where he visited a mystery man and spoke rather menacingly at him.

The unidentified man was in a coma, and John asked what he was going to have to do about him. It followed concern from John’s sister Victoria Sugden and his fiancé Aaron Dingle.

With John making mistakes at work and seeming distracted, he confided in Victoria about a time in the army where he medicated someone and they had a bad reaction. He’s been talking in his sleep and concerning Aaron with his behaviour, with John claiming this was down to what happened with Anthony Fox.

But things took a sinister turn at the end of Wednesday’s episode when he went to see the unknown man who was unconscious. He made the eerie comment suggesting he was trying to cover up whatever had happened.
