Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve cracked the case on the true identity of Aidan Moore’s father, believing he’s none other than a Dingle icon.
The mystery around Aidan first emerged last year with the entrance of John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) into the Dales, claiming to be the long-lost son of Jack Sugden (Clive Hornby).
John quickly left his mark on the village. Not only did he start bonding with his newfound relatives, including his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), but he also got engaged to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
But the plot thickened when Victoria stumbled upon dog tags inscribed with ‘Aidan Moore’. John explained that Aidan was his comrade in Afghanistan, recounting a tragic tale where Aidan perished following a bomb explosion at their base.
As John recounted the harrowing event, he said: “I could see the fear in his eyes, I held his hand as he slowly slipped away.”, reports Leicestershire Live.

Yet, a recent twist in the soap has unveiled that John, who harbours a dark secret, has been visiting a comatose man in the hospital – revealed to be Aidan Moore himself, indicating that John has been weaving lies all along.
In a plot twist that has Emmerdale fans on the edge of their seats, Aidan Moore’s mysterious past is beginning to unspool, as recent scenes saw Aidan’s mother Kathleen make amends with John. The family drama intensified when John’s relatives discovered that Aidan was, in fact, very much alive.
While this week showed John attending a job interview at the hospital, young Aaron nudged them into visiting Aidan, sparking new rumours amongst viewers.

Devotees of the soap are now theorising that there’s much more to unwrap about Aidan’s character and his unexpected presence in the hospital. Fans took to an Emmerdale Facebook group to discuss their suspicions further.
A fan speculated online, “There is still more to come about Aidan. Why he’s in hospital, how he ended there.”
Another followed suit, musing over a Dingle family connection by suggesting the legendary Zak Dingle (played by Steve Halliwell) might be Aidan’s biological dad, writing, “Calling it now Zak Dingle is his real father.”

Echoing this sentiment, another viewer concurred, “Wouldn’t put past the writers.”
A different theory emerged from another fan who considered, “Maybe his mum in the hospital adopted him and his real parents are actually Zak and Lisa.”
