Emmerdale favourite ‘set to return’ 39 years after debut to ‘bring down Caleb Miligan’
Emmerdale fans are convinced that a former Dales legend is set to make a return after the arrival of Caleb Miligan - and it seems he has some unfinished business
Emmerdale’s Caleb Miligan, played by William Ash, is in for a shock according to soap fans who believe they’ve figured out the return of a legendary character.
Caleb has had a tumultuous few weeks following the murder of Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), k.i.l.l.e.d by his daughter Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) initially believed he was responsible for the d.e.a.t.h after he attacked Anthony due to his own past abuse. However, the truth eventually came out.
Along with John (Oliver Farnworth) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Aaron vowed to keep the murder a secret. But Caleb’s loyalty to his family seems to have disappeared after discovering that his brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) had an affair with Ruby.
In retaliation, Caleb planted Anthony’s missing tooth in Cain’s car to frame him, but the police found nothing. It turned out that Aaron had been keeping an eye on Caleb and retrieved the tooth from Cain’s car, later confronting Caleb for answers.
While Caleb didn’t reveal Cain and Ruby’s betrayal, he did warn Aaron that if he went to the police about Ruby’s crime, he would show them CCTV footage of Aaron leaving the house with Anthony’s belongings.
As Caleb’s threats loomed, Aaron recoiled, aware of the danger. Meanwhile, Emmerdale fans are buzzing with speculation that a village legend might be on the horizon to topple Caleb, reports Leicestershire Live.
Punters exchanged thoughts on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, with a member posting: “Bad move Caleb! ” Amidst the flurry in the comments, many were betting on the comeback of Aaron’s former flame, Robert Sugden (played by Ryan Hawley).
A fan speculated: “Where’s Robert when you need him! ” Another suggested: “I feel they are setting things up for his return does anyone else? ” A third advocate boomed: “Yes! He can take down nasty Caleb.”
And yet another chimed in: “Come back and save the day Robert! ” The couple, known as ‘Robron’, became a beloved staple; their love story starting in 2015 and culminating in a 2018 wedding. Their journey paused when Rob was jailed in 2019 after Lee Posner’s (Kris Mochrie) demise.
