Emmerdale icon broken as ex-lover moves on – with someone unexpected
Manpreet Jutla (Rebecca Sarker) was hurt in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale as she arrived at Woodbine to speak with Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), only to establish he was with someone else.
The couple split up in the aftermath of Ethan’s (Emile John) sudden death. Amid Charles’ high emotion, he also realised Manpreet wasn’t read to fully commit to him, and so they separated.
Another newly single member of the village is Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy). Away from the stress of getting divorced from Jai (Chris Bisson), Laurel’s actually quite enjoying facing life solo again.
This week, Laurel has found herself spending time with Charles and Claudette (Flo Wilson) to help with organising the harvest festival.
Laurel has had some thoughts about the harvest celebrations which Charles and his mum consider to be a bit radical for the genteel parishioners of Emmerdale.
Despite the setbacks, Laurel has pushed ahead with the plan, which has left Charles very unhappy.
At Woodbine, during a showdown, Laurel and Charles argued over their harvest festival decisions. In a classic soap moment though, their anger and hatred for each other quickly turned to passion.
And then they kissed.
While this was going on, Manpreet and Jai were in the shop discussing their failed romances. Manpreet told Jai that he should be honest with his feelings regarding Laurel, and that gave her food for thought.
Heading to Charles’, Manpreet walked in just as he ran downstairs from the bedroom. While Charles tried to cover and claimed he was just having a nap, Manpreet spotted Laurel’s belongings on the side and worked out he wasn’t in his bedroom alone.
Emotional, Manpreet quickly dashed out of the house.
It was a very sudden and surprising moment between Charles and Laurel, could it really turn into something more?
Will Manpreet watch her friend and ex get together, while harbouring feelings for him still?
