Emmerdale icon quits village 35 years after debut as shock exit confirmed
An Emmerdale favourite is set to leave the village for Dubai as she grows tired of her husband following a rough few months.
Emmerdale’s Kim Tate has bid farewell to the iconic village.
The soap legend, played by Claire King, has had a turbulent few months following the arrival of Rose Jackson. Rose arrived in the Dales earlier this year as the estranged ex-wife of Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and mother of Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
It was later unveiled that Rose was being blackmailed by Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly), who is hell-bent on destroying Kim Tate (Claire King) and ruining her life. Kim eventually discovered the truth, and enraged, she was keen for revenge – however, she was oblivious to the fact that Will had cheated on her with Rose, something which Rose secretly recorded.
Later, Rose appeared to be shocked by a character’s sudden appearance in a car, but after this scene, viewers didn’t see the car, the mystery person or even Rose – as she seemingly disappeared. Seemingly hinting that something had happened to her, all that was shown were Rose’s bag, a picture her grandchildren had drawn and a hospital letter, scattered across the grass.
In a surprising turn of events, it was later revealed that Rose had gone missing – which has left Kim’s husband Will suspicious that she had something to do with it. And during Thursday’s episode (August 7), Kim disclosed to Will that she was leaving the Dales to head to Dubai for work.
“This trip is a blessing in disguise,” Kim quipped, before dropping the bombshell: “Because right now I’d rather be anywhere, than here with you.” Despite Will’s desperate pleas for her to stay, Kim was having none of it.
Soap addicts were quick to hit up X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to dish on Kim’s dramatic walkout. One viewer tweeted: “Loving Kim having none of Will’s lies, she knows, he won’t own up so she’s off to Dubai to let him stew…” Another fan wrote: “Why does Kim keep leaving, she should chuck Will and his ungrateful family out.”
