Emmerdale icon’s return ‘sealed’ after 14 years ahead of major April Windsor update
Emmerdale is set to issue an update on missing April next week
Emmerdale fans think a soap icon is about to make a return to the village nearly 14 years after their last appearance on the long-running show.
As viewers of the ITV soap will know, April Windsor (played by Amelia Flanagan) has been missing since Christmas Day when her dad Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock).
The teenager was last seen climbing into the back of an unknown car on Boxing Day, before she was seen on CCTV weeks later. But things take a horrifying turn as the teen’s ordeal during her missing weeks is finally revealed in a special flashback episode.
Next week, the arrival of PC Swirling (Andy Moore) immediately worries Marlon and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry). The couple are left fearing the worst has happened to April when the policeman asks them to sit before revealing that April has been found – but it’s not all good news.
In a special episode, the viewers will learn April’s tragic story and Marlon and Rhona are to be left overwhelmed and struggling when Swirling brings them up to date about April.
Emmerdale viewers have been speculating on April’s whereabouts, with some predicting the troubled teenager has been staying her aunt Kelly Windsor (Adele Silva).
Kelly first appeared in the soap back in 1993, finally exiting in 2011. During that time she gained quite a reputation in the village as a ‘maneater,’ with partnerships with Jimmy King (Nick Miles), Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower) and Ethan Blake (Liam O’Brien) among others.
Taking to social media, one soap fan wrote: “Why could it not have been something nice. Eg :- Gone to visit Scott or Kelly.” A second suggested: “Scott or Kelly would’ve been ideal to introduce new characters or revisiting previous.”
“Honestly it’s Scott or Kelly or one of Bob’s other kids”, predicted a third viewer. Meanwhile another asked: “Scott Windsor, Ben freeman has apparently been spotted on set with Adele Silva – a new era for the Windsor’s maybe?”
