Emmerdale legend’s return ‘sealed’ after 4 years ‘to be Sarah Sugden’s surrogate’
Emmerdale fans are convinced that Sarah Sugden will have a baby via a surrogate and that a former soap legend will carry the baby
Emmerdale viewers are speculating a surrogacy plot twist for Sarah Sugden, and they’re convinced they’ve figured out who will be the surrogate.
Sarah (played by Katie Hill), the daughter of Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), has had her fair share of dramatic moments in the Dales.
Her character has been battling health issues for most of her life due to a diagnosis of Fanconi anaemia, a rare genetic disease she discovered at just six years old.
This led to her undergoing a life-saving bone marrow transplant and a heart transplant, leaving her with fears about her lifespan compared to other villagers.
In addition to this, Sarah has fought cancer twice and suffered from heart failure in 2018, a side effect of chemotherapy.
Recently, Sarah’s desire to have a baby led her to undergo IVF treatment. However, during the process, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, reports Belfast Live.
In upcoming episodes, Sarah is scheduled for a cancer operation. But things take an unexpected turn when a surgeon informs her grandmother Charity (Emma Atkins) that the operation didn’t go as planned.
Now, viewers are predicting that Sarah might consider surrogacy, and they believe they’ve identified who will carry her baby – a returning soap legend.
On an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook, one viewer speculated: “I have a feeling Sarah will be unable to have a baby. Her carrying a baby was already incredibly risky so I think there’s going to be a surrogacy storyline.
Another fan echoed this sentiment, saying: “I thought that too.”
A third suggested Sarah’s mum Debbie could potentially carry Sarah’s child, musing: “I did think of Charity as the surrogate but maybe Debbie could do it?” Another agreed, adding: “I’d love that, and then she can finally return!”
Soap legend Debbie Dingle first graced our screens in 2002. As Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) daughter, she was involved in numerous major storylines until her departure in 2021.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
