Emmerdale viewers are convinced they've worked out who is blackmailing Manpreet Sharma after she revealed she was being targeted in recent scenes
Emmerdale fans reckon they’ve figured out who’s targeting Manpreet Sharma.
Only recently, the ITV soap lifted the veil on Manpreet’s secret dilemma as she divulged to Ella Forster that she had become the target of a blackmailer.
The trouble began after Manpreet uploaded photos to an online subscription site, resulting in the anonymous villain saving her pictures and threatening to broadcast them to her unsuspecting patients — with a stern instruction not to alert the authorities.
During the scenes, Ella urged Manpreet to delete her account, yet moments following its deactivation, the blackmailer struck again with a text: “Deleting your profile won’t make a difference” coupled with harrowing screenshots of her profile and a chilling warning: “One word to the police and everyone will know your secret.”

While the timing of these ominous messages has cast doubt on Ella due to her criminal history, eagle-eyed viewers noted that texts popped up while she was by Manpreet’s side, seemingly taking her off the suspect list.
Social media is now buzzing with theories, as fans are certain that Wendy Posner, Manpreet’s former workmate who left the village under the cloud of being blackmailed herself earlier this year, is behind it all.
One viewer theorised: “I think Manpreet blackmailer is another victim of blackmail. I think it’s Wendy trying to get back at the surgery!” prompting others to echo the name “Wendy!” in suspicion, reports Leeds Live.
However, others think it could be Tracy Metcalfe as it was recently revealed that she is strapped for cash.
One viewer speculated: “Tracey who needs money”, while another chimed in with: “I think Tracey too. Wendy’s left now and I doubt she would do that it’s someone desperate for cash” and yet another suggested: “Tracy. She knows about that type of work and she needs the cash.”

The theories come amid hints that Paula Lane’s character, troubled Ella, might be exiting the show soon.
Ella made her debut on the ITV soap last year, quickly securing a job at the surgery’s reception and entangling herself in a romance with now ex Dr Liam Cavanagh.
But Ella’s dark past, involving the d.e.a.t.h of her childhood best friend which led to prison time, was eventually unveiled.
Despite being at the heart of major plotlines, it seems that Paula, 38, may be saying goodbye to Emmerdale as her character Ella.
A recent update on the actress’ Spotlight page indicates that she will wrap up filming for the soap in February 2025.
The ‘about me’ section of Paula’s profile states: “Currently appearing as series regular Ella in Emmerdale ITV filming until February 2025.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
