Emmerdale newbie Lewis’ dad’s true identity ‘revealed’ and he’s a Dingle legend
Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out who Lewis Barton's real father is - and they think he's already in the village
Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve figured out the identity of Lewis’ biological father, and it appears he’s already a resident of the village.
Lewis (played by Bradley Riches) made his first appearance on the ITV soap this week, arriving as the secret sibling of Ross Barton (Mike Parr).
Ross was informed about Lewis by his Aunt Moira (Natalie J Robb), who received a letter addressed to The Family of Emma Barton (Gillian Kearney) – Ross’ late mother.
Viewers will remember that Emma was behind several crimes during her time in the village, ranging from kidnapping Moira’s baby to even m.u.r.d.e.r.i.n.g her own son Finn (Joe Gill). Emma met her end in 2017 when Moira pushed her off a viaduct.
After grappling with whether or not to reveal the contents of the mysterious letter, Moira eventually showed it to Ross, disclosing the existence of his half-brother, Lewis, whom he had never met before, reports Leicestershire Live.
Following some advice from Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), Ross decided to reach out to Lewis. In Thursday’s episode (May 15), the two brothers met for the first time in a woodland area.
The pair quickly got acquainted, with Lewis eager to learn more about his newfound family and his biological mother, Emma. It was also disclosed that Lewis was adopted after Emma gave him up. Interestingly, he has a different father than Ross.
Despite the initial positive interaction between Ross and Lewis, the latter’s numerous questions about their family history became overwhelming for Ross, who struggled to keep the family’s dark secrets under wraps.
Ultimately, he chose to leave, causing pain for Lewis as he departed for good. Once back home, Ross told Moira that they had both agreed to put the idea of a family reunion to rest.
However, Emmerdale enthusiasts are now buzzing with speculation about a major paternity revelation involving Lewis. On an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook, one viewer speculated: “Ross has a new half-brother. Who’s the daddy? ? ?”.
The theory quickly gained traction among fans, with several suggesting that Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) could be Lewis’ real father.
One fan confidently asserted: “Cain I bet.” Another added their suspicion: “I suspect there might be a twist so maybe.” A fellow viewer supported the theory, saying: “He could pass as Cain’s son.”
