Emmerdale: ‘proof’ Anthony Fox is still alive after brutal attack
Emmerdale fans are speculating that Anthony Fox might not be dead after all. The villainous character, played by Nicholas Day, arrived on the scene last year as Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) estranged father, causing her to spiral out of control.
It was later unveiled that Anthony had s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y abused Ruby when she was just 14 and is actually the biological father of Ruby’s daughter Steph (Georgia Jay). After his heinous crimes came to light last week, several villagers were gunning for him.
However, it was Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), haunted by his own past abuse, who ended up violently assaulting Anthony at the local depot.
Believing he’d k.i.l.l.e.d Anthony, a panicked Aaron turned to his partner John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) for help. They returned to the depot where John checked Anthony’s pulse and confirmed to Aaron that he was indeed d.e.a.d.
John then took care of disposing the body, but they soon realised they’d botched their cover-up by forgetting to get rid of Anthony’s car. Meanwhile, Aaron has been visibly grappling with the aftermath of the incident, reports Leicestershire Live.
This week saw Aaron and John successfully sneak Anthony’s car into Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) garage, where they intend to dismantle it piece by piece to eliminate any trace of evidence pointing to Anthony’s demise.
In a jaw-dropping twist at the end of Wednesday’s Emmerdale (January 29), viewers saw Manpreet Sharma (played by Rebecca Sarker) – who’s the neighbour to the garage – peering out her window at John and Aaron having a chat about their dodgy dealings. But now, fans are buzzing with theories that Aaron might not have kicked the bucket after all, in what could be a massive plot twist.
One eagle-eyed fan on an Emmerdale Facebook group reckoned: “Anthony isn’t dead, John has him tied up somewhere, hence the rope clue tonight,” Another jumped in with: “And Manpreet said she can hear banging and moaning coming from the garage..”
Adding fuel to the fire, another viewer agreed: “I’ve wondered about this too.”
Meanwhile, one confident fan put their money on it: “He’s deffo not dead I bet Anthony.”
Then another speculated: “John wanted Aaron out of the way, which makes me think at that point Anthony was alive.”
