Emmerdale return ‘sealed’ 23 years after debut as fans spot ‘glaring clue’
Emmerdale fans are convinced one legend is returning after being spotted with their former co-stars
Emmerdale viewers are hoping Debbie Dingle is returning to the village after a four year absence after spotting a major clue on social media.
Charley Webb, who played Debbie on the ITV soap between 2002 and 2021, reunited with her former Emmerdale co-stars, sparking speculation that she will be reprising her iconic role in the near future.
Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old actor shared a photograph of herself alongside several former co-stars. The series of snaps included Natalie J Robb (played by Moira Dingle), Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel Thomas), Katie Hill (Sarah Sugden), Zoe Henry (Rhona Goskirk), Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle Dingle), and Katherine Dow Blyton (Harriet Finch).
Another photo shared by the actor showed her on-screen father, Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), smiling at the camera while holding a dog, reports The Sun.
The photos sparked excitement among Emmerdale fans, who demanded Charley make a return to Emmerdale.
One fan commented: “Need you back in ‘The Dales'”. Another wrote: “Aww wish you could come back to the Dales. Loved seeing Cain (Jeff) in ya pics.”
Debbie is the daughter of soap icons Cain and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and is currently thought to still be living in Scotland.
However, last year she failed to attend Zak Dingle’s (Steve Halliwell) funeral despite raising the alarm of his passing to his family.
During her time in the village, Debbie became involved in several important storylines.
At the age of 15, she became a mother and had a disastrous relationship with triple k.i.l.l.e.r Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).
The character also married Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) but had an affair with his brother Ross (Michael Parr), and was conned by scheming Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
After 19 years on our screens, her exit from the show was revealed in December 2021.
At the time, a source said: “Charley is closing the door on Emmerdale for good and won’t be going back.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
