Emmerdale return ‘sealed’ for Joe Tate as Peter’s real identity ‘uncovered’
Emmerdale fans are sure Joe Tate is heading back to the ITV soap to seek revenge on Kim Tate, and that newcomer Peter could be secretly linked to the fan favourite
Some Emmerdale viewers think Joe Tate’s return to the village is set, after a twist with Peter and Will Taylor.
Peter, Kim Tate’s financial advisor, was confirmed to secretly be plotting to take her down on Monday night. He wasn’t working alone though, as Kim’s husband Will was revealed to be in on the plan.
But after a reconciliation, amid Will almost being ᴋɪʟʟᴇᴅ, Will wanted out leaving Peter furious. He threatened Will to continue their plan otherwise he said he would spill the beans to Kim.
Amid fans believing Kim could actually be out to get Will in her own revenge plan, it’s yet to be revealed whether Will does go through with it all, and what exactly they want to do. That said, fans are convinced Peter is hiding his real identity, seemingly having been targeting her for months.
Not only that, but they think Will and Peter, or just Peter, could be working for or with a former character. If the theory is correct, a Tate relative could be heading back to the show very soon in a dark twist for Kim.
Is this the moment Joe will finally come back to the show, six years after his shock exit? Kim ordered Joe to be killed after he began getting too cosy at Home Farm and with using the company accounts.

After an assault by Cain Dingle, Joe faked his ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ with the help of Graham Foster and went on the run. Joe’s real fate was only confirmed months later when pictures showed him alive.
So will Joe be back to take revenge? Viewers certainly thing so, with one fan writing on X: “Peter is going to bring other Tates in, isn’t he?” as another said: “I can hope Joe but I’ve been saying that for 3 years now so I’ve given up all hope.”
A third theory said: “All I can think of is something to do with Joseph Tate. He has beef with Kim and also a character is returning at Christmas? Just pulling this out of nowhere but hey a theory is a theory lol.”
Another comment read: “Could be Joe didn’t think of that but the guy said he himself had beef with Kim, and he had no last name in the credits. So pretty sure it’s supposed to be a relation to someone.” Another viewer simply asked: “Joe?” predicting a comeback for the character, played by actor Ned Porteous.
