Emmerdale ‘reveals’ Joe Tate’s true plan for Kim as Will ‘returns from d.e.a.d’

There were shocking scenes on Emmerdale on Thursday night, as Will Taylor returned to the show weeks on from his sad d.e.a.t.h.

But all was not as it seemed, as Kim Tate was drugged by Will’s daughter Dawn. As she hallucinated and saw her late husband, she confessed how she had not initially helped him when he suffered a heart a.t.t.a.c.k on Christmas Day.

After a row over Will’s secret plan against Kim, exposed by Kim’s former enemy Joe Tate who was helping Will along with Peter, Kim thought he was faking it when he collapsed and clutched his chest. By the time she realised the truth, Will was dying and needed urgent help.

Sadly Will passed away before the ambulance got there, and she and Joe covered up all about what happened and Will’s evil plan. Joe is now claiming to be on Kim’s side, even suggesting he was testing Will with the plan, not really targeting Kim like he’d made out.

But fans are still convinced he’s up to something and that his nice act is fake, with him plotting revenge after Kim tried to kill him in 2018. That aside, Dawn remained convinced Kim played a part in her dad’s d.e.a.t.h and decided to drug her with k.e.t.a.m.i.n.e to get a confession.

Will had recorded a video weeks before his d.e.a.t.h claiming Kim had k.i.l.l.e.d him, to be watched if he passed away. But Will had recorded it prior to his plan with Peter, and before he and Kim reconciled.

Dawn was confident Kim k.i.l.l.e.d her dad and so poisoned her, before asking her what really happened. Kim collapsed though and was rushed to hospital after an overdose.

When she came round she covered for Dawn before confronting her, and soon the pair made peace. Dawn finally knew that Kim didn’t help Will but she accepted she was sorry about it, while she still has no idea about their row or her dad’s lies – or Joe’s involvement.

But something Joe said to her before Kim regained consciousness may allude to this soon coming out, and that Joe might have a sinister plan for Kim after all. Dawn wanted to know why Joe was covering for her, by not telling the paramedics what she had done to Kim.

He told her: “Let’s just focus on getting Kim better for now. Everything else can wait.” So does his answer prove there is a reason why he’s covering for Dawn and helping her? Does he have an explanation that is against Kim?

Of course towards the end of the episode as the pair shared a shock kiss, he did suggest it was more to do with him knowing what she was going through and the fact his past revenge plots got him nowhere. But could his comment and his meddling be the biggest hint yet that he has a plan that he’s going to let Dawn in on, getting payback for Will after his drama with Kim like the initial plan?
