Emmerdale ‘reveals’ who takes down John Sugden as his k.i.l.l.e.r secret is finally revealed
Emmerdale fans are convinced they know who is going to take down John Sugden following the soap's harrowing flashbacks - which exposed the character's sinister side
Emmerdale has seemingly revealed the character who will bring down John Sugden, following revelations about his dark past.
John (played by Oliver Farnworth) made his first appearance last year, claiming to be the long-lost son of Jack Sugden (Clive Hornby). He quickly made an impact on the village residents.
The enigmatic doctor has since become a fixture in the village, building relationships with his newfound family members, including sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins). He also became engaged to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
However, little is known about John’s past, other than his apparent military service. Recently, showrunners confirmed that they would soon delve into John’s darker side.
This week, Emmerdale unveiled a significant twist regarding John, allowing viewers to finally understand his actions over the past year, reports Leicestershire Live.
In Thursday’s episode (April 10), the soap aired several flashbacks, one of which confirmed that he was responsible for the d.e.a.t.h of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
Following a barn fire last year, Nate was rescued by John, who then administered medication in an attempt to save him. However, as John prepared to give another dose of medication, he was shocked to discover that Nate had d.i.e.d.
The drama in the village escalated to chilling heights as viewers witnessed John coldly transporting Nate’s lifeless body in his van, only to dispose of it off a bridge and into the same lake where the limo crash occurred, the corpse concealed in a bag.
But the revelations didn’t stop there – the soap has also unveiled that John was behind Ella Forster’s (played by Paula Lane) setup and the one who spiked Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) drink last month.
Moreover, he deliberately endangered Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), who suffers from a severe nut allergy, all to orchestrate a ‘rescue’ and bask in the villagers’ adoration as a hero.
With John’s dark deeds now coming to light, Emmerdale fans are buzzing with speculation that his comeuppance is imminent. They’ve taken to social media to share their predictions on who will ultimately bring John to justice.
One fan expressed their intrigue on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page: “Wow, John has some serious narcissistic, psychopathic, PTSD, hero complex going on! Tonight’s episode is a good one,”.
Another viewer hinted at a potential ‘clue’ about John’s downfall, posting: “I think Aaron is figuring it all out, he had a strange look on his face at their flat when John came back from the doctors.” A third concurred, suggesting: “Yeah I think it will be Aaron that puts a stop to him.” This sentiment was shared by another, who added: “Yeah I hope so too.”
