Emmerdale Ruby’s secret DNA test, Anthony’s health bombshell and Marlon heartbreak
Emmerdale's Ruby Fox-Milligan has been on edge ever since her dad Anthony Fox arrived in the village - and it's not hard to see why after their dark past was revealed
Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox-Milligan, played by Beth Cordingly, has been a bundle of nerves ever since her dodgy dad Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) rocked up in the village.
Fans were given a peek at why Ruby’s so spooked by her old man in a special episode that dropped a few weeks back, with flashbacks revealing the dark truth: Anthony had been s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y abusing teen Ruby.
While hes kept this sick secret under wraps, Anthonys been busy trying to charm his way into the clan. He’s shown a keen interest in Ruby’s hubbie Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and his Dingle fam, and so far, his “nice guy” front seems to be fooling everyone.
But Ruby ain’t sitting around twiddling her thumbs. In scenes set to keep us hooked, she’s on a mission to get a DNA test for her kiddo Steph Milligan (Georgia Jay), even nabbing a hair sample on the sly.
She spills the beans to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) about her suspicions, reports Leeds Live. At the same time, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) can smell trouble brewing with Anthony looking to plant his roots in the village, especially since hes clued-up about Anthony’s grim fling with Ruby.
Talk about close shaves Ruby nearly gets clocked by Caleb while she’s on the hunt for his DNA. Then there’s Anthony dropping a bombshell on Caleb about his health, swearing him to secrecy.
A spa day might smooth things over between Ruby and Steph, but with Ruby on edge with her secret looming over them, it aint all zen and pedicures. The mother-daughter vibe gets rocky again when Steph stumbles across an ancient snap from when Ruby was preggers, sparking off more family drama.
Smooth-talker Anthony steps in, telling Steph to go easy on her mum, hinting there’s more to Ruby than meets the eye.
In other Emmerdale news, Marlon Dingle, played by Mark Charnock, is on a mission to find his missing daughter April Windsor, portrayed by Amelia Flanagan. The Woolpack chef is persuaded by those close to him to make an appeal video which quickly goes viral.
However, Mary Goskirk, played by Louise Jameson, attempts to shield Marlon from the barrage of hateful messages that start pouring in. Upon discovering them, Marlon contemplates removing the appeal video, wishing he had sought proper advice before starting this endeavour.
In the end, Marlon stands firm and decides against deleting the video. He and Rhona Goskirk, played by Zoe Henry, remain united in the face of the online hostility.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
