A split second decision made by Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) has potentially confirmed he will d.i.e in the lake crash in Emmerdale.
This week, Liam tried to put a plan into place so he could propose to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter). It involved him buying a number of tickets for the Take a Vow raffle, believing he’d stand a higher chance of winning the grand prize – a night out in a limo.
Sadly, luck was not on Liam’s side as Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) ended up winning. She decided to host an evening with her female friends in the end, and Chas was invited.
By this point, Liam had already organised another limo to be delivered to the village. When he learnt of Chas’ plan to head out with Kerry, he covered and said the second vehicle was for his lads’ night.
Once the men and women had got ready, they all filed into their respective limos. As they waited for Mandy (Lisa Riley) to return from Wishing Well, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) realised Liam was feeling disappointed his proposal didn’t go ahead.
Always one to act on spontaneity, Liam hopped out of the limo and rushed to the other one.
With Paddy by his side and wanting to help, Liam jumped into the female limo, meaning Mandy had to go in the male one.
As they set off, everyone bar Caleb (William Ash) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) appeared in high spirits.
With time ticking on, the atmosphere in the boys’ limo started to change when Caleb told everyone that Cain had slept with Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
An angry Caleb started to drive his limo faster, leaving Mandy and the rest of the men utterly convinced something terrible was about to happen.
Meanwhile, things were awkward in the other vehicle due to Chas’ face dropping with shock when Liam eventually managed to propose.
Moments before the episode ended, both Caleb and Charity (Emma Atkins) were forced to swerve their limos. We’re not quite sure why they both came off the road, but one of them has stopped right in the middle of a frozen lake.
A few weeks ago, we pointed out that Paula Lane is still filming as Ella Forster. A picture was shared on Instagram that saw Paula and Lisa Riley – aka Mandy Dingle – behind the scenes.
This certainly suggests Mandy will survive next week’s ordeal, in turn fuelling the theory the female limo is stuck on the ice.
But will the decision to switch places with Mandy ultimately see Liam lose his life as he battles to save himself and his friends?
