Emmerdale shock as Rhona Goskirk kidnaps baby Ivy – with a glaring problem
SHE'S not even baby Ivy's mother
EMMERDALE has dropped a major shock on viewers tonight with Rhona Goskirk kidnapping baby Ivy.
The vet – who is played by actress Zoe Henry in the ITV soap – has been struggling to cope with the news that ex-husband Gus is moving to France with Ivy.
Viewers know that Rhona is biologically Ivy’s mother after Gus and late wife Lucy fraudulently had Rhona and Gus’ frozen embryos implanted in Lucy.
Sadly Lucy died during in childbirth and Rhona felt a strong connection to her biological daughter.
When it became clear that Gus was struggling to carry out basic tasks through his grief, Rhona’s mother Mary stepped in to help with Ivy.
However Gus needed even more help and Mary brought him and Ivy back for Christmas, which gave Rhona the opportunity to bond further with Ivy.
And when Gus went to a treatment centre for his grief, leaving Ivy in Rhona’s care, those feelings only grew.
Now she’s utterly convinced that she is Ivy’s parent – despite all the legal advice she had telling her otherwise.
So in tonight’s episode when Gus gave her a final day to say goodbye to Ivy before they set off for France, it sent her spiralling.
After telling husband Marlon she was going for a walk, Rhona made a run for it.
She packed up her clothes and all of ivy’s belongings and drove away from the village without a single word to her family.
Once they realised she was missing they went into overdrive to find her but had no luck.
“I hope you know how much I love you,” Marlon said leaving a voicemail for Rhona.
“And I’m going to move heaven and earth to keep Ivy in our lives because you are the best mum and she deserves the best, same as Leo and April.
“I promise I’ll do anything I can to help you but I can’t until you come home love. And I can’t stall Gus forever, please, please come home. I love you.”
But Rhona’s plan appears to have hit a snag with her and Ivy sitting on a dark road in the middle of nowhere.
