Emmerdale Shocker: Beloved Legend Comes Back After Nearly Two Decades! Find out more below and share your excitement

Emmerdale Star Steven Raman Hughes Returns After 19 Years with Warm Welcome

Fans of the beloved ITV soap Emmerdale were delighted to see Steven Raman Hughes make a triumphant return to the village after nearly two decades. Steven reprised his role as Diaz Dasari, a character he originally portrayed 19 years ago, bringing a wave of nostalgia and excitement to longtime viewers.

Steven’s return last week came at a dramatic time, shortly after the shocking incident where Joe Tate was pushed out of a window at Home Farm—an event that eerily echoed a storyline from almost 20 years ago when Jimmy King’s father was similarly pushed from a window. To investigate this recent fall, Diaz Dasari was called back to the village, bridging the past and present storylines.

Sharing his excitement, Steven posted behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram showing moments from filming around the Emmerdale village and at the iconic Home Farm party. In the pictures, he was seen posing alongside stars like Ned, Olivia Bromley, and Jack Downham, even snapping selfies by the famous Emmerdale village sign.

In his caption, Steven wrote:
“From tonight’s episode, I’ll be appearing on Emmerdale in a role I am reprising from 19 years ago. Sadly, Glennice was k.i.l.l.e.d off and couldn’t return, but I was invited to come back. I had the most fun I’ve had on a set in a long time. So much welcome back warmth from a superb cast. There’s a big crime to solve, so watch and see the drama unravel.”

Fans and former co-stars quickly responded. Glennice Barber, who played Dari’s colleague Grace, commented, “I hope you laid some flowers for poor old Grace,” to which Steven replied, “Yes, I did, said a few words.”

In the storyline, Diaz Dasari faced challenges in his investigation, as every suspect he interviewed so far managed to provide watertight alibis or prove they had no involvement in pushing Joe out of the window. The real culprit, it turned out, was Dawn. After learning about Joe’s threats to her daughter Clemmy, Dawn confided in Billy, and together they fabricated a cover story. This deception misled Dari into believing neither of them were responsible.

Steven Raman Hughes’s return has been a highlight for Emmerdale fans, bringing back a familiar face and tying together complex story arcs that span nearly two decades. Viewers are now eagerly awaiting the next twists and turns as the investigation continues to unfold.
