Emmerdale fans will be left wondering if a character d.i.e.s in upcoming shocking scenes

Emmerdale spoilers have seen a star open up about this week’s big ‘whodunnit?’ storyline and whether Joe Tate truly loves Dawn Fletcher.
Ned Porteous, 30, reprised his role of Joe Tate last year and the character has been responsible for some drama in recent weeks. Stealing Caleb’s kidney, his relationship with Dawn and drugging half-brother Noah which led to three d.e.a.t.h.s in limo crash horror. It is fair to say he’s made some enemies.
This will all come to a head in an upcoming hour edition of Emmerdale which will air on Thursday, May 8 where we will see Joe attacked during a big party at Home Farm with viewers being left wondering who carried out the violent act and if villain Joe survives. Appearing at a press event held at the Home Farm set, Ned discussed the big party scenes.
Setting the scene, Emmerdale spoilers show plans are coming together to throw Lydia an exciting glamorous surprise birthday party up at Home Farm, but is it the right time for the village to be celebrating? Especially given there is so much bad feeling towards Joe Tate circulating.
We know there’s an attack on Joe but we don’t know who carried it out and whether he will survive. The reveal is coming in through upcoming episodes.
Acting star Ned has offered some insights into filming, with so many cast members, at the Home Farm set. He said: “It was a fun day and it was handled really well. It could have been a stressful environment. I think everyone really maintained a high level of professionality. It was just lovely, when you get to act with other people on the show. Especially if you are up here at Home Farm, you do feel somewhat secular in your work environment.
“There’s a multitude of super-talented people who I don’t always get a chance to work with. When you get everyone all in the same room, at the same time, it is great. It can be a little bit daunting with all eyes on you.”
Ned was asked which of his colleagues were keeping morale up between shooting scenes. He answered “That fella over there probably, he’s a real p**s take. Jay Kontzle over there. All of them. I get on well with all them – honestly.
“I know everyone always says that but I get on well with everyone here. Hopefully, they feel the same way about me. But I can only say how I feel. They are a lovely bunch of people to work with.”
In recent months, Joe has embarked on a relationship with Dawn which has seen her marriage to Billy end. Ned revealed whether Joe’s affections for Dawn are actually genuine and if the character loves her.
Ned said: “I think in his own weird Joe Tate way, yeah. I’m not really sure he understands what those feelings are. It is very complicated to him but I personally like to believe that he does and that’s definitely a driving force that I like to bring into the scenes with him and Olivia Bromley (who plays Dawn).”
Concluding the discussion about this week’s attack, Ned wouldn’t reveal if Joe survives so we’ll have to wait and see. He did state: “Someone has always got it in for poor Joe. He doesn’t have the easiest life but then he does ask for it (the drama), I suppose.”
