Emmerdale star Amy Walsh says Tracy and Cain ‘work together’ to expose Nate’s k.i.l.l.e.r

After fighting over Nate's d.e.a.t.h, the pair find themselves in need of each other's support

Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has teased that viewers can expect to see Tracy and Cain form a truce as they work together to expose who really k.i.l.l.e.d Nate.

As viewers will recall, Nate Robinson met his grisly end unexpectedly last September when he was due to leave for a new start in Shetland after accepting a job opportunity.

After breaking up with wife Tracy Robinson and getting into a physical altercation with his dad Cain Dingle, Nate was struggling with his injuries.

At that point, it was John Sugden who came face to face with him and tried to help. Of course, over the last few weeks we’ve learned that John has a “hero complex” where he likes to save people by putting them in danger first.

He injected Nate with something, but accidentally k.i.l.l.e.d him after Nate had a bad reaction. Realising what he’d done, John acted quickly and wrapped his body up before dumping him in the lake.

That same lake was dredged recently after the slurry tank incident (also John’s doing), and Nate’s loved ones finally learned why they hadn’t heard from him since he “left”.

While Tracy and Cain have been accusing each other of being the k.i.l.l.e.r, actress Amy Walsh revealed that they’ll soon form an alliance as they come together during their grief.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Amy shared: “Tracy and Cain do a little list together of who it could it be.

“We have ruled out some people we know.” Asked about John, Amy teased: “That was left on a bit of a cliffhanger actually. He’s the next name on the list…”

The actress warned: “Tracy is feisty. The stuff she gets away with doing to Cain, I was nervous on set! I can’t believe I’m doing this to Cain Dingle!

“But it’s all brilliant, there’s such brilliant scenes. It gets really nasty between us and then there’s a really nice arc in the story eventually, where things will become a bit clearer. I can’t say too much but there is a lot to look out for.”

She continued: “It’s a bit of a rollercoaster. There is a shift with some new evidence that comes into play, but we don’t know if it’s evidence planted by John.

“Someone else might be put in the frame by John and it’s neither of them, Cain or Tracy. So there is another twist and turn there. To be honest we’re still filming stuff so we have only just been filming the bits where Tracy is accepting that it’s not Cain and they’re thinking who else it could be .”

Reflecting on emotional scenes in the future for Tracy and Cain, Amy said: “We’ve done a few scenes now where they finally have got to the point where they trust each other again.

“It’s really moving actually as it’s two people who have lost someone they’ve loved and they are trying to get to the truth and get him justice.”

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
