Emmerdale star insists he’s ‘good pals’ with ITV rival in bloody backstage snaps

Emmerdale favourite James Chase has given fans an insight into his upcoming scenes with his co-star rival Bradley Johnson as he shared a bloody selfie on the famous ITV set

Emmerdale hunk James Chase insists he’s “good pals” with his onscreen rival Bradley Johnson as he shares bloody behind-the-scenes snaps.

Over the past few weeks, his character Tom King has been controlling and abusing his new wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) in the ITV Dales. Just months after the couple tied the knot, the cracks have started to resurface again after the blonde bombshell started to grow close to Bradley’s character, Vinny.

It didn’t take long before the TV villain plotted a way to drive a wedge between the two by becoming Vinny’s best friend. Last week, the obsessive husband decided to try and set his new pal up with one of the local ladies in the village.

But his plan soon fell apart when Vinny reunited with Belle behind his back. And it appears as though things are only going to get messier between the three of them.

On Sunday (April 21), the soap hunk took to Instagram to share a series of snaps from the ITV set alongside his TV rival. In the first snap, both James and Bradley were beaming beside each other.

However, Bradley sported some bloody looking wounds across his face after filming some dramatic scenes on set. In another selfie, Bradley appeared to be screaming to the camera while his co-star looked on and laughed.

Next up was a sweet throwback snap of the pair looking years younger as they enjoyed a pint of Guinness together in a pub. James captioned the post: “We’re good pals in real life just so you know [winking emoji].”

His co-star Bradley simply commented with three praise emojis as another crew member penned: “We all had fun that day [smiling emoji]” which James replied saying: “We certainly did Mags [laughing emoji].”

Hours later, the actor took to his Instagram Story after he treated himself to a well-deserved haircut. The star showed off his fresh new look in his garden as he threw a sultry look to the camera.

He captioned the post “Cheeky trim” as his loyal legion of fans showered him with compliments. It comes after Emmerdale bosses recently announced that Tom and Belle’s domestic abuse story will feature in a special episode next month, which breaks from the show’s normal format.

Show producer Laura Shaw told us: “It centres around a dinner party – mainly focusing on Belle, Tom, Marlon and Rhona. We’ll see what’s going on in their relationships, but through the special way that we’ve done it, we show how what you see in public is not necessarily what you see behind closed doors.

“So I’ll leave you to work out what that might be. It’s not the only special episode we’ve got planned for this year, but I don’t think I’m allowed to tell you anything else! There are other special episodes planned that are slightly different.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
