Emmerdale star reveals girlfriend is pregnant with their first baby five years after being sacked for stab threat
The actor has appeared alongside some big Hollywood stars since his axe
EMMERDALE star Asan N’jie is set to become a dad after revealing his girlfriend is pregnant with their first child – and she’s due this month.
The actor, who was sacked from the soap after he threatened to ‘k.i.l.l’ Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas, shared his happy baby news during a recent post uploaded to his Instagram.
In the snap, Asan’s partner Kirsty can be seen cradling her bump as she poses in a stunning white dress at her recent baby shower.
Captioning the post, Asan wrote: “Can’t wait to meet Liccle baby boy.”
The ex-soap star was congratulated on his news by his former co-stars. Taking to the comments section underneath the post, Michelle Hardwick gushed: “Beautiful news! Congratulations to you both.”
While Fiona Wade commented: “Ahhh congratulations darling! How exciting! So happy for you!”
And Amelia Flannagan posted: “Congrats Asan so happy for you.”
Asan has since followed up the post with another snap of him at Kirsty’s hospital bedside with the caption: “Getting ready for the sleepless nights.”
Neither Asan or Kirsty have confirmed whether they have welcomed their child – Kirsty had previously revealed in a post shared to her Instagram that the baby was due sometime in February.
Asan first found fame after joining the ITV soap as Ellis Chapman, the stepson of Marlon Dingle, in 2018.
He spent almost two years in the role before he was sacked by bosses in late 2019 after he issued a threat Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas following an argument at an Awards bash in London.
Asan was caught on camera saying to the Hollyoaks star: “Do you think you are a f***ing big man? I’m going to f***ing k.i.l.l you.”
He reportedly could then be heard whispering: “I’m going to f***ing knife you.”
The actor’s contract was immediately terminated and the role was recast.
The scuffle backstage reportedly began when Asan was said to have hurled a “completely unprovoked” slur at Jamie.
At the time he said: “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected, especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
“I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.”
Later, it was alleged that the row began over a financial dispute when Asan left Jamie’s theatrical agency.
Despite it initially seeming like his career would be in tatters, his acting career has in fact gone from strength to strength.
Last year landed himself a role in Pierce Brosnan’s movie, Giant, about the rise of boxer ‘Prince‘ Naseem Hamed.
