Emmerdale star says actor will be ‘greatly missed’ as they react to heartbreaking exit
One Emmerdale actor's devastating exit has let a 'huge hole' on set for the cast, one star has revealed, after their decision to leave the ITV soap for good recently
One Emmerdale star has spoken out over their close friend and colleague’s devastating decision to leave the ITV soap.
Admitting their departure has “left a hole” on set and was very emotional to film, the cast member confessed they will be “greatly missed”. Nate Robinson actor Jurell Carter bowed out of the soap in September after wrapping up his final episodes weeks earlier.
In a m.u.r.d.e.r twist his character’s final scenes actually aired in April this year, seven months after is final episode. His co-star Amy Walsh, who plays Nate’s wife Tracy Robinson, has now spoken out about bidding farewell to her co-star and friend.
Now that the m.u.r.d.e.r of Nate is finally public, something she secretly knew about before it had even been filmed, Amy has been able to speak about the plot for the first time. Amy shared how difficult it was to film their final scenes, and how much she and her co-stars miss Jurell on set with his exit being final.
Knowing he could never return thanks to Nate’s m.u.r.d.e.r at the hands of John Sugden, Amy shared how upsetting it was that it was so final. But she hopes Jurell will be thrilled with the send-off he gets onscreen.
Asked if she’d kept in touch with her co-star, Amy revealed: “Yes, I’m going to see his play. I can’t wait to see him, I want to support him. We still message occasionally and check in on each other.
“The last time we spoke was him being on tour and me busy at work, juggling, and he said have they filmed my funeral yet? And I said no that’s next week!” She went on: “It’s a bit weird, we’ve obviously been filming the funeral stuff this week. He is a massive part of the company and it’s a massive hole that he’s left.”
Adding he was missed by all the cast who were sad he could never return, Amy shared: “It was weirdly cathartic being there to celebrate him as Nate at the funeral, even though it was traumatic scenes to film .It was nice being there for him.
“He is greatly missed. He’s a great guy, I feel really sad it’s forever that he’s gone but what a great exit. He’ll be pleased. The funeral is amazing, it’s an amazing nod to his time here so I think hell be pleased with that.”
As for Tracy, it will leave her reeling next week when she’s told Nate is d.e.a.d and has been m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d. Not only that but she learns he never left village and has been in the lake the entire time.
She shared: “I don’t think it ever occurred to her that he could be d.e.a.d. There was a moment of, ‘I hope he’s alright’ and it’s been overshadowed by this strong feeling of how could he do this to them. He wasn’t who she thought he was, maybe he’s not the amazing guy everyone thought he was.
“She thought he’s shown his true colours. That is the very much overriding thought for her’s, she feels so let down and I guess abandoned by him.” Amy revealed Tracy will be “heartbroken” by the truth.
