Emmerdale Steph’s heartbreaking exit storyline ‘revealed’ after star reveals pregnancy
Emmerdale fans are convinced that they have worked out how Steph Miligan will leave the village after actress Georgia Jay confirmed that she is expecting a baby
Emmerdale fans reckon they’ve sussed out the exit storyline for Steph Miligan from the ITV soap.
Georgia Jay, who plays estranged daughter Steph to Ruby (portrayed by Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (William Ash), made her first appearance last year, with Ruby’s dad Anthony (Nicholas Day) shocking the village shortly after.
Ruby found her world turned upside-down as Anthony’s dark past came to light, revealing he had sexually abused her as a teenager and, in a dramatic plot twist, that he was Steph’s real father.
Anthony met a grisly end at the hands of his own daughter, Ruby, leading to a murder cover-up entangling several villagers, including Caleb, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), and Cain (Jeff Hordley).
After learning of Anthony’s heinous acts, Steph was thrown into turmoil, even trying to alter her looks in despair but was eventually brought back from the brink by the support of Ruby and Caleb, and she’s currently undergoing therapy.
To add an extra layer to the tale, actress Georgia Jay recently dropped a bombshell on Instagram that she’s expecting, writing: “As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve got some news to share!”
She added: “I know some of you have been wondering if you’ve been seeing a little bump on screen lately… well, it’s not your imagination… I’m having a baby!”.
Amidst the joyous announcement of Georgia’s pregnancy, Emmerdale aficionados are speculating how her character Steph’s impending departure will be scripted to accommodate the actor’s maternity leave, reports Belfast Live.
On a dedicated Emmerdale Facebook group, speculation is rife, with one fan pondering: “I wonder how Steph will leave the soap when the actress goes on maternity break?”
Another suggested a possible plot twist saying: “I think she might have another breakdown or something and be sent away.” Further intrigue was sparked by another comment: “I thought this too.”
The theories continued, with one viewer predicting a dramatic exit involving incarceration, saying: “Prison? Wouldn’t surprise me if John somehow pins it all on her!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
