Emmerdale has been cancelled on ITV next Thursday in a schedule shake-up as the soap has been pulled off air to make way for England's UEFA Nations League clash with Greece

Emmerdale has been pulled off air next week in a new schedule shake-up.

The beloved soap is getting the boot next Thursday (November 14) to accommodate England’s footie face-off with Greece in the UEFA National League.

It ain’t the first time Emmerdale ‘s been yanked from our screens lately. Just last month, both Emmerdale and Coronation Street got sidelined for some Live Women’s International Football action as the Lionesses roared at Wembley Stadium.

Peep at the current TV guide and fans will spot Emmerdale will return back to its regular 7.30pm slot on Friday (November 15). This latest schedule shuffle follows the news that Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and Ruby Fox-Milligan’s (Beth Cordingly) daughter Stephanie is due to rock up in the village soon.

Steph, portrayed by Georgia Jay, hasn’t clapped eyes on her parents for over 10 years. Chatting about her new gig, Georgia gushed: “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. The cast and crew have all been so welcoming and I’m very excited to see what lies ahead for Steph, given her intriguing backstory.”

Stephanie’s arrival in the village is going to be anything but low-key as her granddad, Ruby’s dad Anthony (played by Nicholas Day) is also set to stir up some drama.

Despite his old age mellowing him out, making him quite the charmer to anyone he meets, Ruby hasn’t been in the same room with her father for over a whopping thirty years.

Actor Nicholas gushed about joining Emmerdale, saying: “I’ve been made so welcome in the Emmerdale family. And my screen family is great to work with, the scenes just fly. No kidding – I feel blessed.”

Sophie Roper, the brains behind Emmerdale’s production, revealed: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Nicholas and Georgia to Emmerdale as part of the Miligan family.

With so much yet to discover about Ruby, the arrival of her father and daughter will unlock her past and see Ruby and Caleb tested in ways we’ve never seen before. With two actors of such great calibre, they’re certainly set to make their mark on the Dales.”
