Emmerdale Tate legend’s return ‘sealed’ after 20 years – and Kim is in for a shock
Emmerdale fans are convinced a member of the Tate clan is heading back to the Dales
Emmerdale could be set to welcome back a Tate legend – and Kim will be speechless.
Soap favourite Kim (Claire King) has had a dramatic past twelve months. At Christmas, her husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) suffered a heart attack and later d.i.e.d.
She was then left shocked when estranged step-grandson Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) made his return after six years away. Since then, Joe has settled back into the village, even moving in with Kim at Home Farm.
However, it’s clear he is hiding something big, amid his health problems and a sudden desire to build a relationship with brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham).
Soon enough though, Kim cottoned on that Joe – who has struck up an affair with her stepdaughter Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) – has some sort of ulterior motive to be back in the Dales.
She ended up bugging his room to listen in on his conversations via her laptop. However, the laptop was taken by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) – who has her own suspicions about Joe.
Listening back to the audio files, Charity discovered all about Joe and Dawn’s affair – and has since blackmailed him. However, in what would be a huge twist, fans are predicting the return of a Dales legend to shake up the drama more for the Tate family.
Sharing their thoughts online, fans are certain a comeback for Jean Tate could be on the cards. Jean is the daughter of Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell) and Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman).
Jean – who is Kim’s step-granddaughter – was played by Megan Pearson and made her first appearance in January 2003. However, in September 2005 she left for New Zealand with her mother Zoe.
On a Reddit thread, one person penned: “I want to see them bring in Jean. The Tates are classic Emmerdale, definitely one of the most interesting families the show has ever had. Kim has been the only Tate for a while and putting her with Will and co was a massive mistake.
“Bringing Joe back has been great and if they brought back Jean, they could have a real opportunity to build up the Tates again. The show really needs to move on from focusing so much on the Dingles and start investing in other families. And I think the Tates would be a good start.”
Other fans agreed, as a second person replied: “Read my mind!!!!!!.” A third also said: “I completely agree as she would be in her early 20s and Zoe did leave with both Jean and Joe so they definitely grew up together.”
