Emmerdale teases devastating twist as Ruby drops confession about missing Stephanie

Viewers tuning into Emmerdale on Thursday night got a little bit of information about the mystery daughter of Ruby and Caleb Miligan.

Stephanie was discussed this week by Caleb and Ruby’s mother Helen Fox, with it teased there was drama in the family. But we know very little about the character who has yet to debut on the ITV soap.

Ruby mentioned Stephanie though on Thursday, with Caleb appearing to avoid the topic. Ruby made a sad confession about her daughter’s whereabouts, hinting at a sad twist.

She questioned her ability as a mother, and whether she’d have been better at it had her own mother been in her life. Caleb comforted her, saying she was a great mum.

But amid recent drama with son Nicky Miligan, which led to his exit from the village and him now ignoring her calls, Ruby called this out. She then commented on her child being “God knows where”, confirming they were not in contact.

But as Caleb referred to Nicky in his response, Ruby made it clear she was talking about their daughter Stephanie, with Caleb pulling a face. So where is she, and why did she take off?

There has to be more to the fact Caleb and Ruby clearly aren’t in contact with Stephanie, with Ruby hinting she is to blame. Ruby suggested it was her efforts as a mother that had led to her lack of contact with her daughter, not even knowing where she is.

Suggesting she could have been a better parent, she said: “We have got one child who is God knows where and never gets in touch.” Caleb said: “Nicky will calm down you know he will, he will respond to your messages eventually.”

Ruby then confessed: “You’re more confident than me but that wasn’t who I was talking about and you know it. Or have you actually forgotten about Stephanie?” Caleb did not answer as if he was avoiding discussing his mystery daughter.

It comes as viewers speculated what had happened to Stephanie for her not to be mentioned and to not have joined with the other Miligans. Some fans wondered if a DNA twist tore the family apart, as others questioned if Stephanie was adopted when she was born.

That said, this latest information about her might spur more theories given it seems as though she took off somewhere. More details will no doubt be revealed about her lack of contact soon, amid fans predicting she will debut in the village.
