Emmerdale Tom King downfall ‘sealed’ as fans spot huge mistakes after ‘robbery’

Emmerdale's Tom King has been manipulating his wife Belle Dingle for weeks now, but his latest scheme may have sealed his own fate as fans are convinced he made a number of errors

Emmerdale fans believe Tom King’s downfall is just around the corner.

Viewers will know that Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is currently the- victim of her husband Tom’s (James Chase) escalating coercive control. He has ridiculed, isolated and gaslighted his wife for wanting to pursue a career and spend time with her family, instead of dedicating all her time to him.

Tom has repeatedly been cruel to Belle whenever she has stood up for herself. He’s even tricked her into believing she was at fault to manipulate situations in his favour, reports OK!.

During Thursday’s instalment (April 4) of the ITV soap, the villainous vet took things a step further by staging a break-in to punish Belle for staying out with Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) after a successful day at work.

Speaking to Belle on the phone, Tom made her feel guilty by claiming he was forced to throw away the dinner he had prepared for them because she had stayed out. Back at their home, Tom went ballistic as he started smashing the house up in a fit of rage.

When Belle eventually came home, Tom claimed they had been robbed and the culprits had taken her engagement and wedding ring – that he’d actually swiped them himself. Suzy thought something was off about the burglary, but Tom managed to convince police otherwise.

But fans immediately took to social media to point out a number of glaring errors involving the burglary. One wrote: “Tom putting 0 effort into his cover stories is definitely going to bite him.”

A second penned: “Tom’s finger prints all over everything, easy cop, the writers didn’t think of that.” Another chipped in: “Errr, the door wasn’t broken neither was the window.. So how did they break in, Tom.”

A fourth sarcastically said: “There’s been a spate of robberies in the area. Except in any of the other houses in the village.” Meanwhile someone else agreed: “‘A spate of robberies in the area’ none of them tried to break into the literal mansion at the top of the hill hmmm… suspiciousness….. maybe Belle could engage her one brain cell.”
