Emmerdale Tom King’s sinister plan ‘revealed’ as he returns – and it’s bad news for Belle
Emmerdale Tom King is back on the soap and fans have now ‘rumbled’ his dark plan for Belle
Emmerdale fans are certain they know what Tom King is planning following his shock return to the soap.
Abuser Tom (James Chase) is currently serving a three-year sentence in prison, after being found guilty of domestic abuse and coercive control towards wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
As fans will recall, Tom made Belle’s life a living hell, abusing, gaslighting and lying to her over several months. Fortunately, her ordeal came to an end late last year, when Tom was sent to prison.
Since then, Belle has attempted to put the dark chapter behind her, and last week, she revealed she was heading back to work at Take A Vow, as she previously given up the job amid pressure from controlling Tom.
And this week, Belle was left emotional realising it was the one-year-anniversary of her wedding to Tom. Although adamant she wants a divorce, Belle confided in co-worker Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) that she expects Tom to make the process hard for her.
However, during Tuesday’s episode (February 11) Tom made his on-screen return from prison – much to the shock of fans. Tom was seen in his prison cell just shortly after being told that Belle had started divorce proceedings.
In a bid to manipulate the situation to his advantage, Tom spun a web of lies to the prison chaplain that he can make things right with Belle if she visits him. The chaplain fell for Tom’s words and informed Belle’s solicitor that he wanted her to see him in prison.
The solicitor then encouraged Belle to visit him as this could speed things along. After much consideration, Belle decided to go and see him – and when Tom found out, he was delighted.
And now, fans are convinced they know what Tom has up his sleeve. Writing on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “Hmm I wonder what Tom is planning.”
Fans rushed to the comments section to share their theories, with several claiming he could be planning to escape jail. The viewer penned: “I think he will try and break out.” Echoing their thoughts, another penned: “He could escape and keep Belle hostage.”
A fourth person suggested Tom could even end up being the body under the ice following a limo crash next week. They said: “Maybe he breaks out, is that him under the ice he’s wearing a wedding ring ??” Another agreed: “That’s true!”
