Emmerdale Star Breaks Silence on Potential Sarah D.e.a.t.h Tragedy

As a child, Sarah was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia, a rare inherited bone marrow failure syndrome. The condition not only increases her risk of developing cancer but also shortens her life expectancy. When Leila brought up the severity of Sarah’s illness, it triggered a wave of panic in Jacob.

Reflecting on his character’s emotional turmoil, actor Joe-Warren Plant shared:
“There’s a tendency for people to leave Jacob. He’s finally clocking on to that, and it’s one of the reasons he’s pushing people away in certain situations.”
When asked about how Sarah’s condition might impact their relationship, Joe-Warren added:
“If there was a baby involved, it’s definitely something Jacob would have to think about—how he would raise a child on his own. But at the end of the day, if he truly loves Sarah, that wouldn’t be a good excuse to end things. If it came down to it, he’d definitely step up.”
A New Chapter for Jacob?
With major cast changes shaking up Emmerdale, Joe-Warren also addressed the impact of recent departures, saying:
“Now that Matthew and Roxy have gone, which was heartbreaking, it’s allowed me to work with people I don’t usually have scenes with. It’s a breath of fresh air! We all get along so well off-screen, but you don’t always interact with certain cast members in scenes. So it’s exciting to see what new dynamics Jacob will develop.”
