Emmerdale

Emmerdale viewers know who will take Tom King down – but it won’t be anybody in the Dales

Tom King has managed to fool everybody around Belle Dingle in Emmerdale. Off-screen, ITV viewers now believe a complete outsider will be the one to finally take him down.

While Belle Dingle’s cries for help are ignored by those closest to her, Emmerdale viewers believe Tom King’s past will soon catch up with him, eventually leading to his downfall.

The Take A Vow wedding planner portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper has been tormented by her husband, played by James Chase, for months on end, with the verbal and psychological abuse eventually escalating into full-blown physical attacks.

But since she decided to call time on their marriage, Tom’s nasty behaviour reached new heights as he gave away her beloved pooch Piper to a new family, who Belle believes to be dead after she was mowed over by the sinister vet.

Belle has tried to strike back in the best way she can – by reaching out to the police and asking to have access to Tom’s information as she called upon Clare’s Law to find out if he had ever been abusive to former partners. A theory about his downfall has since emerged, suggesting one of Tom’s victims could join forces with Belle.

Speculation emerged on Facebook after one regular ITV viewer reminded social media users that Tom had once been found bloodied by Belle after he was brutally beaten in the village last year. However, he refused to rely on the police for help and the incident was dropped, never to be mentioned again.

The soap fan wrote: “Well it looks like they’re following up this ‘Claire’s Law’ storyline. My guess is- when Tom first arrived in the village and was beaten up by two people , they were connected to a female that he’d abused before he came to the village. That was an event that was never continued.”

One soap fan agreed: “Yes, I think it will (be) sure that Belle is not his first victim”, while a third chimed in: “I thought he might have been in trouble with the law but I’m sure Rhona and paddy would have found out when they checked him out. He was in the village for a while watching Belle.”

Another theory making the rounds online involves Piper herself, who was at the centre of a huge wave of Ofcom complaints, a loose end Tom may regret to have underestimated.

The speculation suggests that Belle could soon find Piper again with her new owners and the dog’s microchipping may be used to prove she is not only her pooch but that Tom is also deceptive. This could then lead Tom’s menacing nature to finally come to light.
