Emmerdale viewers believe they’ve pieced together the true identity of April Windsor’s homeless friend Dylan, who appears to have a significant connection to the Dales.
Teenager April (played by Amelia Flanagan) vanished from the iconic village on Christmas Day after an argument with her father Marlon (Mark Charnock), last seen entering a car driven by an unknown person.
This week, the soap aired a special episode detailing her experiences since leaving the Dales. After finding herself homeless in Leeds city centre, April befriended a group of homeless individuals, including Dylan (Fred Kettle).
Dylan introduced April to a derelict building where his close friend Becca (Becca Ashton) was also living, and the pair took April under their wing. In a shocking twist, it was revealed that April is pregnant.
The episode showed the hardships April faced while homeless, including witnessing Becca being stabbed after chasing a thief who stole their money. Knowing about April’s pregnancy, Dylan promised to take care of her, seemingly resorting to s.e.x work to earn money.
Following Becca’s death, a heartbroken Dylan turned to drugs for solace. Tragically, the building where Dylan and April were staying was raided by police, leading to Dylan’s arrest while April managed to escape, reports Leicestershire Live. In a distressing turn of events, she later gave birth to a stillborn baby in a public toilet.
Emmerdale fans are now buzzing with theories about the true identity of Dylan, convinced he’s connected to one of the soap’s most iconic families. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, a viewer speculated, “I wonder what the back story of the homeless lad who helped April? Is he going to be a one episode person?”
The speculation didn’t end there, as other fans chimed in on the comments section with a shocking twist: Dylan might just be the legendary Cain Dingle’s (played by Jeff Hordley) secret son. One fan suggested, “They should bring him in as a regular character… he could turn out to be Cain Dingle’s secret son.”
Another was quick to concur, saying, “I’d love this! We all know Cain played the field years ago.” Echoing the sentiment, a third fan added, “He could be someone’s son in the village like Cain he has children popping up a lot.”
Someone even hoped for Dylan’s integration into the storyline: “I hope they bring him in to help support April, she mentioned Becca would want her to look after him so maybe that could be a storyline they could do where she goes back for him and brings him to the Dales.”
