Emmerdale: ‘work out’ PC Swirling’s secret love child – and they live in the village
Emmerdale fans are convinced that PC Mike Swirling has a long-lost child who is living in the village
Emmerdale fans reckon they’ve sussed out PC Swirling’s long-lost son, and it turns out he’s a familiar face.
Andy Moore, who has portrayed the steadfast copper since 2004, is one of the soap’s longest-standing recurring characters. Throughout his tenure, PC Mike Swirling has been at the forefront of handling the village’s numerous infractions.
PC Mike Swirling has become a household name in the village, especially among the Dingle family. In a memorable episode from December last year, he found himself arresting none other than Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
Soap aficionados will remember how the iconic character crashed into Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) car in a frantic dash back to the hospital to be with Moira (Natalie J. Robb) amidst revelations of his affair with Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
More recently, PC Swirling has been embroiled in the mystery surrounding Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) “disappearance”, as the villagers remain oblivious to the fact that his body lies hidden in the woods after being m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d earlier this year, with John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) responsible for concealing it, reports Leicestershire Live.
Next week’s spoilers from the soap have confirmed that PC Swirling is set to make another appearance, this time taking Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) into custody.
However, in a potential plot twist that could shake things up, fans are speculating that Swirling might have a secret offspring residing in the village.
One fan shared their theory on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, commenting: “Swirling definitely should become a villager full-time. He should be involved in a big storyline, anyone else think the same?”.
One viewer speculated: “He could have a secret child in the village!” Another fan pondered over potential storylines, suggesting that John Sugden might be the mystery offspring, adding: “John? He could be helping him cover up the Anthony m.u.r.d.e.r.”
The theory has gained traction with other fans, with one remarking: ” I would love this!” Another chimed in with similar thoughts, saying: “Same here, John is definitely not who he says he is!”.
Besides his role in Emmerdale, actor Andy Swirling has graced our screens in shows such as The Royal, The Bill and Fred and Marv. He even had a brief cameo in Coronation Street back in 2005, where he played a driver for two episodes.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
