Emmerdale: ‘work out’ why Caleb ends up in hospital – and it’s nothing to do with Cain
Emmerdale's flashforward of Caleb Dingle flatlining has been 'explained' by fans
Emmerdale fans have ‘rumbled’ the reason why Caleb Miligan ends up in the hospital.
Caleb, played by William Ash, has had a dramatic and difficult past few weeks. As well as finding out he isn’t the biological father of daughter Steph (Georgia Jay), Caleb has helped cover up the m.u.r.d.e.r of Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day).
And to make things worse for Caleb he also recently discovered that wide Ruby (Beth Cordingly) cheated with his brother Cain (Jeff Hordley). Hell-bent on revenge, Caleb tried to frame Cain for Anthony’s m.u.r.d.e.r – but it didn’t work.
After that plan backfired, the truth came out last week, when Caleb exposed Cain’s infidelity in front of his nearest and dearest, including his wife Moira (Natalie J. Robb)‘s son Matty (Ash Palmisciano).
Caleb was driving a limo full of several villagers and ended up crashing during the showdown with Cain. A physical fight then took place, with Caleb brutally attacking Cain before leaving.
However, at the same time the ladies limo, playing host to the likes of Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) ended up crashing in an icy lake – with Suzy tragically dying.
But amid all the drama going on at the moment, fans have been left confused by a flashforward the soap aired a few months ago. In December, fans saw a shock flashforward that showed an unconscious Caleb lying on a hospital bed hooked up to machinery.
Things take a dramatic turn though when he flatlines. Now, with Caleb clearly not ending up in hospital following the crash, or from his fight with Cain, fans reckon they know how he ends up on the hospital table.
“I thought Caleb’s flashforward hospital part would have been when it came out about Cain and Ruby. I was wrong, so why does Caleb end up in a coma????” said one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page.
Rushing to the comments section, others put forward their theories – including one that could see Caleb get attacked by Jai Sharma (Jai Sharma). They wrote: “What if Jai snaps and attacks him- he took Jai to the cleaners for every penny he had didn’t he??”
Someone else agreed: “Ah good idea.“ A third then chimed in: “Jai can be an extremely nasty person, I’m not sure I fancy Caleb’s chances against him.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
