Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle caught up in sinister blackmail plot
His nightmare is far from over.
Emmerdale spoilers follow from Thursday’s episode (February 13).
Emmerdale has seen Aaron Dingle becoming entangled in a blackmail scheme in the cover-up of Anthony Fox’s d.e.a.t.h.
In previous scenes, Aaron kidnapped Ruby Fox-Miligan’s abusive father and beat him to make him confess to his actions.
Aaron’s boyfriend John Sugden wrongly believed Aaron k.i.l.l.e.d Anthony and helped him dispose of the body. However, it was later revealed Ruby was the one who had committed the crime after Aaron left.
In tonight’s hour-long episode, the police brought Cain Dingle in for questioning after finding Anthony’s car parts in the mechanic’s garage for dismantling.
Panicking about her actions, Ruby turned to her husband Caleb, who’s Cain’s half-brother, for help.
In the new episode, it became clear that Caleb has been working to pin the murder on Cain to protect Ruby .
Meanwhile, Aaron, who has since found out Ruby was responsible for the k.i.l.l.i.n.g, has been looking out for Cain.
Aaron spotted Caleb rummaging around Cain’s place, quizzing him about what he was doing there. Caleb lied and told him he was just checking on Cain and Moira after finding the front door open.
At the police station, the detectives told Cain there were some new elements potentially linking him to Anthony’s disappearance.
The police grew concerned for Anthony when he missed some hospital appointments after receiving a terminal illness diagnosis in the months before the m.u.r.d.e.r.
Cain swore that Anthony was still alive when he left his garage, and agreed to the police’s request to search the place — though he was unaware that Caleb had planted Anthony’s gold tooth in his car.
Before the detectives could check the vehicle, Aaron had managed to retrieve the tooth to save Cain from a wrongful conviction.
Confronting Caleb later on, Aaron returned the tooth and demanded some answers.
“You should’ve stayed out of it,” Caleb said, reminding Aaron he was “in too deep to call any shots”.
In a twist, Caleb showed Aaron some CCTV footage of him driving Anthony’s car into the garage which could implicate him in the murder.
“Loyalty is for losers, Aaron,” Caleb said. “You say a word to anyone and you’re next.”
