Emmerdale’s Aidan Moore’s brother ‘revealed’ – and he’s already in the village

Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out Aidan Moore’s surprise family connection to the village, and it’s not John Sugden.

As fans of the ITV soap will know, m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r John (Oliver Farnworth) has been visiting a man in hospital called Aidan, who remains in a coma. However, former soldier John had previously told his sister Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) that Aidan was a fellow comrade who had d.i.e.d.

In one scene, John sits at Aidan’s bedside while a woman named Kathleen also visited the hospital patient and they appeared to be on friendly terms.

John later told Aidan: “Your mum still thinks you might come out of this, bless her, as if that’s going to happen… you’re stuck, locked in for eternity.”

On Tuesday (April 22), Victoria tried to organise John and Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) forthcoming stag party as their wedding day approaches. As she knows her half-brother served in the armed forces, Victoria reached out to one of his former comrades to gain insight into his past.

When meeting Connor at The Hide, their conversation soon shifted to a man named Aidan. Victoria had come across Aidan’s dog tags among John’s possessions and knew that the two were close during their army days, but thought he had d.i.e.d.

However, Connor confirmed Aidan is alive and that he is John’s former fiancé. Shocked by this revelation, Victoria visited the hospital, hoping to see Aidan, but was unprepared for his dire condition.

Upon returning home, Victoria immediately confronted John, questioning why he had lied about being engaged to Aidan.

John managed to keep his cool, explaining that Aidan is currently in a vegetative state due to oxygen deprivation to his brain, an incident for which he feels responsible. He also demanded that she keep quiet about Aidan and not tell Aaron.

During Wednesday’s trip to the Dales (April 23), available to watch now on ITVX, John’s lies about Aidan were finally rumbled as Connor continued to hang around the village.

Connor headed to The Hide as he hoped to run into Victoria again but she wasn’t working. Instead, Connor ends up crossing paths with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), who quickly uncovers his past connection to John.

Trouble brews when Mackenzie mentions John’s upcoming stag night and wedding, encouraging Connor to share all of John’s most profound and darkest secrets so there’s plenty of material to mock him with.

This leads to Mackenzie discovering that John has been actively lying to everyone about his past, and he doesn’t take the news well.

Following the revelation that Aidan was John’s former partner, some Emmerdale fans are now predicting a connection between Mackenzie and Aidan, with some believing the two are long-lost brothers.

Taking to Reddit, one fan wrote: “I think you all knew for certain that the person in hospital is now indeed Aiden Moore, but my gosh he does look similar to Mackenzie! Imagine if it was his twin brother, that’ll be a shock!”.

A second said: “I thought it was Mack too and was so confused at first”, while a third added: “I think the person in the woods was wearing Mack’s very recognisable jacket. From John’s ‘chat’ with Aidan in the hospital it does seem he’s some sort of ex.”

“That was definitely Mack running through the woods. If that was Aiden he’d be a literal double of Mack lmao. They don’t look THAT much alike. There’s just a slight resemblance but I bet when Aiden is awake with his eyes open he’ll look nothing like Mack”, debated another.
