Emmerdale’s Amy Wyatt ‘takes secret’ to her grave as star ‘confirms’ body in the lake

Emmerdale star Natalie Jamieson broke down in tears as she watched her character Amy Wyatt's dramatic exit on Lorraine on Friday morning

On Friday’s episode of Lorraine, Emmerdale star Natalie Jamieson was moved to tears as she relived her character’s dramatic departure from the ITV drama.

In heart-wrenching scenes broadcast earlier in the week, Amy Wyatt tragically d.i.e.d in hospital after plunging into an icy lake due to the limo accident, which also claimed the lives of two other villagers.

While submerged, Amy caught sight of another person in the water. With her final breaths, she attempted to convey a crucial message to Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), though it remains uncertain if he understood her.

“Matty, Nate is in the water,” she faintly uttered, to which Matty responded, “I know you were, darling, but you are safe now.

“Nate is in the water,” Amy struggled to repeat before saying, “I love you,” Leeds Live reports.

Revisiting the scene proved poignant for Natalie, who confessed to host Christine Lampard, “It was very traumatic. We watched it in the hotel because I knew I was coming here this morning. It was a very, very sad episode.”

She added: “It wasn’t to be for Amy, but what a way to go! What an episode, what an exit.”

Christine then delved into the storyline and Natalie’s months-long knowledge of it. Natalie revealed: “I’ve known for a long, long time, but I just think it’s so special.”

“The magic really happens when the audience is taken by surprise, watching it unfold in real-time without spoilers. That’s why I was so determined to keep it a secret,” she explained.

Christine keenly remarked on the gripping plot twist, saying: “But of course, Amy is now going to take sadly to her grave a terrible secret.”

“It wasn’t just one hand down there. There was another hand, and we don’t know who it belongs to at this point.”

The actress then disclosed a critical piece of the storyline: “I think last night, Amy tried to tell Matty, but nobody in the village knows who it belongs to because, as Amy was trying to tell Matty, it was kind of a final words, and she used them up to say, I love you.”

Speculation among viewers is rife, with many fans convinced that Nate’s (Jurell Carter) body is submerged.

One fan expressed hope: “I hope Matty remembers what she said.” Another fan suggested: “I am sure when they go get Suzy’s body, they will find Nate.”

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
