Emmerdale’s Anthony reels as major secret is confirmed – and he gets set to confront Ruby
Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) is set to face some tough questions from dad Anthony (Nicholas Day) after he found out that Caleb Miligan (William Ash) had cheated on her.
Caleb, as viewers know, embarked on a secret romance with Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) this time last year but the passion was soon stopped in its tracks when estranged wife Ruby made her debut.
Ruby certainly wasn’t pleased about her hubby’s betrayal but the couple decided to put the past behind them and embark on a new chapter, proving be stronger than ever.
The unexpected return of Anthony, however, has sent Ruby spiralling, with fans speculating that there are more secrets to be divulged about the sinister patriarch’s past.
It certainly appears that this is the case, with Ruby struggling to let Anthony in to her life. In fact, the only reason that she’s agreed to let him stay in the village is so that her own daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) won’t leave.
Anthony, however, has already caused chaos, lying about events from the past and bringing up a character named Rob, who he believes to be Steph’s real father.
The newcomer continued to make unwanted waves on Monday (December 9) after picking up on some tension between Ruby and Tracy during a visit to the shop.
Anthony learned from Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) that the reason for this conflict was due to Caleb having cheated on Ruby with Tracy.
The discovery left him seething and he’s set to confront both Ruby and Caleb about what he’s found out. The question is: will he use this discovery to cause trouble?
While not going into detail about the reason why, Ruby revealed last week that she ‘despises’ her father.
‘‘The fact that he’s got cancer doesn’t change that one bit,’ she told Caleb during a heated rant.
‘He’s crawled in here trying to re-write history, looking for sympathy and I haven’t got a shred to give.’
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
