Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle quits village after confronting abusive husband Tom King

Emmerdale's Belle Dingle made a sudden exit from the village with her dog Piper after months of heartbreak, following the realisation that her husband Tom has been abusing her

Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle has made a dramatic departure from the village.

After realising her hubby Tom had been secretly abusing her for months, heartbroken Belle decided to take action. The baddie had become violent, was obsessively tracking her every move and even plotted to whisk her away to a secluded spot in Wales.

However, during their Welsh getaway, Belle twigged his plan to cut her off from the world as their holiday turned into a waking nightmare. She finally escaped his grip and declared their marriage done as she made her way back to Emmerdale.

But in Wednesday’s (July 31) show, Tom tried to worm his way back into Belle’s good graces, dropping hints about the security camera at their cottage, trying to play nice, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Charity Dingle stepped in, suggesting Belle needed some time away and should visit Debbie. Tom caught up with Belle just as Charity was about to drive her out of the Dales.

He probed: “You going somewhere? ” to which Charity responded: “She’s just going to stay with Debs for a bit.” Belle chimed in: “Just to clear my head”, but Tom couldn’t resist offering: “I would have given you a lift if you asked.”

As Belle struggled with Piper’s, she snapped at Tom’s prying, retorting: “I would have driven myself if you hadn’t sold my car.” Tom kept pressing, asking: “When are you back? “, only for Belle to sharply hit back: “I don’t know Tom! When I am ready.”

Taking charge of the scenario, Tom had been adamant about keeping Piper; however, Belle held her ground and expressed her desire to retain the pooch.

Not understanding where this was coming from, he expressed his disbelief: “I can’t believe you are doing this to me,” as Belle got into her car and sped off. Fans will have to wait and see how Belle will remain away from the village.
