Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly pays tribute to soap star partner as she marks ‘4 years’
The actress updated her followers with the news
Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly paid tribute to her famous partner as she celebrated being with him for four years in an Instagram post.
The actress is best known for her role as Ruby Miligan in the ITV soap. She joined the Dales last year, shortly followed by her estranged father Anthony Fox and daughter Steph.
Harrowing flashbacks then aired which showed Anthony and repeatedly abused Ruby when she was younger, and also fathered Steph.
After the truth was outed, Anthony ended up dead at the hands of Ruby after Aaron Dingle attacked him at the depot. John Sugden buried him, but everyone else involved has no idea where.
Recently, Ruby has been focused on trying to help Steph while she struggles to cope with the truth about Anthony. She’s especially been struggling with her appearance, and become desperate for plastic surgery to remove any family resemblance.
In real life, Beth received an award for Best Newcomer at the 2025 TV Choice Awards, and she’s also been nominated for Best Leading Performer at the British Soap Awards.
She’s currently in a long-term relationship with fellow actor Ian Kelsey. Fans of the soap might remember Ian as Dave Glover in Emmerdale who left the show in 1996. Beth has previously discussed how “supportive” the fellow actor has been when she landed the role.
Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday (30th April), Beth posted a snap of the couple next to each other in a car as she wrote: “4 years. Admittedly he doesn’t look over the moon about it here. (Let’s be honest, he actually looks like he’s being held captive.) But then I never was too good with the super keen”.
Beth has gushed about her partnership before, as she announced: “I love you on tour. I love you at home. I love you away. I love you here. You are the stuff dreams are made of. Thank god I found you. #stillcantbelieveyourereal…”
She continued: “(I know this is [sick face emoji] . Soz, dudes. I shout this s**t from the rooftops nowadays and – if it backfires on me – SO BE IT, I won’t be ashamed. I had a good time on the way. I’m done with being quiet and careful. I don’t care. #lifeistooshort).
Ian recently praised Beth’s work in Emmerdale as he shared: “She’s doing such great work, and it’s a deep, dark storyline. She’s had to step up to the plate and her workload has been huge but she’s doing a brilliant job. I’m so proud of her”.
His character Dave had an affair with Kim Tate during his time on the ITV soap, and the actor admitted that although he’s “busy for a little while” with Mamma Mia: The Party, he would “absolutely consider going back to Emmerdale”.
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
