Emmerdale’s Cain star ‘leaks’ identity of long-lost Dingle member returning in shock twist

Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley - who plays Cain Dingle in the ITV soap - has 'leaked' the identity of the Dingle who will be returning for Zak's funeral in upcoming scenes

Emmerdale’s Jeff Hordley has dropped some juicy spoilers about the Dingle who’ll rock up for Zak’s send-off.

The soap world was left reeling after Steve Halliwell, who played the iconic Zak Dingle since ’94, sadly died last December at 77. He quickly became a fan fave with his top-notch acting chops.

With Steve’s death, the show writers have penned an exit plot. This week, the Dingles were heartbroken to hear about Zak’s demise. Zak had been living in Scotland, so Cain and Sam (played by James Hooton) headed off to fetch his body for to bring him back home to Emmerdale.

And this week, the village will say their farewells at Zak’s funeral. However, there’s a twist as a long-lost Dingle rocks up out of the blue at the burial, leaving the family absolutely floored. The cast has been dropping cheeky hints about who might pop up on our screens, reports Leeds Live.

Lorraine hinted: “We shall say, there’s someone that turns up at the funeral, quite unexpectedly, and I think people will be quite surprised by that.” Jeff dished out: “I can tell you, that she is a good friend of some of us in the cast.

“Zoe Henry has worked with her on stage, William Ash and I have done a play with her. So it was really great to welcome this character to the show, and she is very very good indeed,” he teased.

Earlier in the month, Lisa Riley, famed for her role as Mandy Dingle, dropped a significant hint. Speaking to The Sun, she revealed: “There is going to be someone coming from the past who will have repercussions for Mandy and Paddy and Vinnie especially moving forward.”
