Emmerdale star Danny Miller admitted that his family helps him “shut out” emotional days at work ahead of his latest pregnancy announcement.

The three time British Soap Award Best Actor winner and former I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner has played the role of Aaron Dingle since 2008.

He married wife Steph in 2021, and the couple currently share two children together – Albert and Edith.

Taking to Instagram on Friday (April 11), Danny shared a black white picture of his young family, with Steph’s baby bump in view.

Captioning the post with a sun, baby and heart emoji, Danny wrote: “Three is the magic number… #family #three #newborn #babylove #mum #dad.”

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Metro, the actor shared: “It’ll be amazing to be a family of five. It’s nice to have that addition, the family is growing. It’s a lovely feeling to have another on the way.

“It’s a lot different for me now, I don’t have time to worry about unwinding because the kids are very good at doing that.”

He continued: “I get home, they’re happy to see me, we have a little play about, throw them about a bit, get them in the bath and into bed. We’ll have our tea and then, before you know it, I’ve got to be learning lines. Then it’s 6am and I’m off to work again!

“It’s nice not to have time on my own anymore, it helps to shut out any emotional stuff out that’s going on with work. Leave that where it is, which I was never really good at doing but which I am much better at.”

Danny is currently at the heart of a major storyline – not that his character Aaron is currently aware of the impending danger.

Aaron struck up a romance with the mysterious John Sugden who, in a series of flashbacks, was shown to have accidentally killed Nate Robinson, with his loved ones believing he left the village for a new life in Shetland.

Now, Aaron is planning to tie the knot with John unaware that he’s been sneaking around and inflicting pain upon those around him in order to prove that he’s capable of “saving” them.

When asked if he’d ever consider leaving the ITV soap, Danny replied: “Do you know what, I love this job more than I ever have. To be able to raise a family on the back of this amazing show with such incredible people.

“It certainly wouldn’t be my decision for Aaron to leave or have a break ever again. I just adore it; I wouldn’t ever want to leave again, off my own back. It’s just trying to live each day and each year’s contract by exactly that and hope they ask me to stay.”

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
