Emmerdale’s Ella ‘being set up’ as fans ‘work out’ who is framing her – and it’s not John
ITV Emmerdale viewers are convinced they know who really drugged Chas Dingle in an attempt to set up Ella Forster - but it's not John Sugden

Emmerdale viewers are convinced they’ve figured out who’s behind the drugging of Chas Dingle, and it’s not John Sugden.
Chas, played by Lucy Pargeter, was rushed to hospital last week after collapsing in the Woolpack, following an injury she sustained during a fatal limo crash in February.
Since then, she’s been taking codeine for back pain, but was found unconscious last week, leading to suspicions of an overdose. John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) was quick to call an ambulance.
But at the hospital, doctors expressed concerns about a potential overdose. Chas’s fiancé, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), immediately accused his ex-girlfriend Ella (Paula Lane).
He claimed she was tampering with the medication, leading to Ella’s arrest and subsequent release pending further investigation.
However, after Chas tried to negotiate with Ella to leave the Dales, Ella became convinced that Chas was actually drugging herself in order to frame Ella.
In Tuesday’s episode (March 25), Ella was determined to prove her innocence and tried to convince Liam that Chas might be addicted to p.a.i.n.k.il.l.e.r.s.
Things escalated when Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) asked Ella to move out due to the allegations, leading to Ella revealing Manpreet’s recent scandalous side job to the entire village.
Emmerdale viewers are in a twist, with some fans suspecting that John Sugden isn’t the true culprit. A user on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page aired their theory: “I don’t think Ella did it.”, reports Leicestershire Live.
The post sparked debate in the comments section where another fan speculated, “I think it was Chas herself and she wants rid of Ella so perfect way to do it.”
Agreement came from another viewer: “Yep I agree Chas.” While yet another shared, “I said that last week, something doesn’t seem right.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
