Emmerdale’s Joe Tate plans to deceive Belle with sly new plan

The schemer strikes again...

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Joe Tate will devise a sly new plan on Emmerdale as he considers the possibility of deceiving Belle Dingle.

The schemer has been up to no good in recent months, firstly breaking up the marriage between Billy and Dawn Fletcher as he began an affair with the latter, with the couple soon beginning a formal relationship.

He also managed to steal Caleb Miligan’s kidney with the help of a corrupt doctor, with the figure also inadvertently causing the d.e.a.t.h of several village residents after spiking half-brother Noah Dingle, whose wearied state led to a multi-car collision.

After Joe’s various misdeeds were revealed, the schemer was pushed from a window by an enraged Dawn, though the wheelchair-bound schemer let the incident slide as he continued their relationship.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Joe has already begun to target his next victim, with next week’s scenes seeing the character suggest to Dawn that they take over the weddings at Home Farm separate from Take A Vow, the events planning business run by Belle.

Convinced by the idea, Dawn pitches herself and Joe as a viable business partner for Belle, though the latter makes it abundantly clear that she would never take Joe’s money, leaving Dawn in a pickle.

After hearing the developments, Joe offers to loan Dawn the money without Belle’s knowledge, with Dawn being left torn. She subsequently arrives eagerly for her first day, but did she take Joe’s money and betray Belle’s trust?

“Dawn may be willing to forgive and forget when it comes to Joe’s crimes, but the rest of the village aren’t so forgiving,” teased an insider for the ITV soap. “Belle is adamant that she can’t betray her family.

“[They’ve] had various run-ins with Joe over the years – many of them were suspects when he was pushed out of the window earlier this month, after all! Joe clearly believes that he can pull the wool over Belle’s eyes, but will Dawn be prepared to go along with this?”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
