Emmerdale’s Nate Robinson actor’s life off-screen from footy career to ‘explicit’ photo saga
Emmerdale star Jurell Carter, who played Nate Robinson in the ITV soap since 2019, and has been involved in some huge storylines as well as some rather raunchy scenes
As the body count piles up on Emmerdale, one d.e.a.d character has yet to be identified.
After a revelation in the limo crash scenes, fans are convinced Nate Robinson could be the d.e.a.d body under the lake. A man’s hand – with a very similar bracelet on his wrist – was shown as Amy plunged into the icy cold water.
Just before Amy’s heartbreaking d.e.a.t.h, she seemed to be trying to tell husband Matty it was Nate too. The character, played by Jurell Carter, left in September, but his exit was never shown.
Jurell set pulses racing when he joined Emmerdale in April 2019 as the mysterious Nate Robinson. It wasn’t long before a bombshell revealed he was Cain Dingle’s (played by Jeff Hordley) secret son. Not before sleeping with his dad’s wife Moira – as revenge for Cain abandoning Nate and his mum as a baby.

Jurell’s character has also been at the heart of many explosive plots, including Tracy Metcalfe’s (Amy Walsh) own infidelity when she slept with Nate’s uncle Caleb. Since leaving Emmerdale in September last year, he has done TV voiceover work – providing his vocal talents to the likes of Sephora’s Christmas adverts.
Born in Leicester, Jurell initially aimed for a career in football. At 18, he was offered a partial scholarship to play in the States but couldn’t take up the offer due to financial constraints. Reflecting on the missed chance, he shared with the Mirror: “It was heartbreaking.
“I had loved football from the age of three. When I got offered the scholarship to the University of South Carolina Aiken it was amazing but I couldn’t find the funds to pay for the rest of it so I couldn’t go.
However, after training at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Jurell landed his role on Emmerdale in 2019. Jurell Carter took to Instagram with excitement, announcing: “I’m a series regular in @Emmerdale and I’ll be playing Nate Robinson. So glad we can finally announce this.”
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “We had to keep quiet for what felt like the longest. Cliche as it is, I really can’t put into words how much this means. Feel truly blessed and grateful for it and for everyone that’s truly supported me and help make it happen.

Jurell previously shared a selfie from an intense workout which fans thought was something more explicit (
“From my beautiful family, beautiful agent and everyone at Emmerdale.” Jurell has kept his personal life under wraps, with his social media showcasing his fitness regime and time with friends. However, he once refuted claims of posting an explicit photo on Instagram Stories after fans mistook a topless selfie for something more salacious.
“Let a man live. I was on my spin bike,” he clarified to his audience. Since joining the soap, Jurell has been part of some racy storylines, which he admitted to finding “overwhelming” initially.

The actor revealed that he shed a stone and a half to prepare for his shirtless scenes. In a candid chat with the Mirror, he shared his initial shock: “The s.e.x scenes have been a bit overwhelming really. I did a student film and I had one scene which was just a little peck, so it was a big contrast to what I was doing here. But I had to just kind of embrace it and go with it.”
