Now, the story surrounding his exit has been revealed and viewers are set to get quite the surprise.

Recent scenes have shown the character hiding a huge secret in Emmerdale.

His ex-wife Tracy (Amy Walsh) has mixed feelings after she ended their marriage.

But she was left suspicious after he was pulled away by a mysterious phone call.

In forthcoming scenes, Nate will make a shock confession to Mack (Lawrence Robb).

He will tell his friend that he has been offered a new opportunity to relocate to Scotland for a new job.

Although, he will not have long to think about his movements as he will be forced to decide his fate by the next day.

This will leave him feeling completely torn over the decision he will have to make.

When he finally tells Tracy about the big news, neither will want to fully open-up about their true feelings towards each other.

Nate will leave the conversation as he hides the fact that he feels upset and let down.

However, events will soon come to a head as the pair will then be sent into a complete panic.

As they speak outside, the duo will realise that their young daughter Frankie has disappeared.

They will have no idea where she has gone as they frantically search the nearby area.

Tracy will then make the big decision to call the police.

But will the pair confess their full feelings to each other? Or will Nate go up to Scotland alone and heartbroken?
