Emmerdale’s Ruby grabs k.n.i.f.e in terrifying Anthony twist on Christmas Day

Emmerdale's Ruby Fox-Miligan is set to reach breaking point on Christmas Day as she threatens her abusive father after he decides to stick around the village

Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox-Miligan, portrayed by Beth Cordingly, is set to confront her father Anthony, played by Nicholas Day, after it was revealed he had abused her.

Anthony made his first appearance this year as Ruby’s estranged father, causing turmoil in her life.

His arrival followed that of Ruby’s daughter Steph, played by Georgia Jay, who returned to the Dales after more than a decade away from her parents.

Ruby was immediately on edge upon seeing her estranged father again, and a flashback sequence from a party on her 16th birthday unveiled their disturbing past.

Despite Anthony’s assertions that she had slept with her friend Rob at the party, flashbacks confirmed that Rob and Ruby were merely good friends, with Rob interested in another boy named Darren.

In upcoming episodes of the popular ITV soap, Ruby will feel the pressure when Steph insists that Anthony, who also has terminal cancer, spend Christmas Day with them as a family.

In an attempt to lessen Anthony’s influence, Ruby invites Chas, played by Lucy Pargeter, and her family over for Christmas. Meanwhile, her husband Caleb, portrayed by William Ash, invites Moira, played by Natalie J Robb, and Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, to join the celebrations.

Ruby braces herself for a challenging Christmas Day as her guests arrive at Mill Cottage, but she is quickly disgusted when her father attempts to charm the family, reports Leeds Live

The day takes a downward turn when Anthony declares he will be staying in the village indefinitely and, following their Christmas dinner, the group heads to The Woolpack for a drink.

However, the situation escalates when Anthony stays behind, prompting Ruby to seize the carving knife and warn her father to keep his distance. Will Anthony heed Ruby’s warning?
