Emmerdale’s Tom King ‘escapes justice’ as character agrees to cover up his lies

Just as one Emmerdale resident looked set to expose Tom King's recent behaviour, he was persuaded to stay quiet about what he'd seen - meaning Belle Dingle could be in trouble

Emmerdale fans were left frustrated on Tuesday night, as Tom King appeared to get away with his crimes.

Viewers had been hoping Carl Holliday would expose Tom’s lies regarding his missing iPad, amid a domestic abuse storyline on the ITV soap. Fans know that after months of abuse at the hands of Tom, his wife Belle Dingle reported him to the police.

But amid this she attacked him with an axe in self-defence after he tried to kill her. Belle now faces trouble for the attack as she needs to prove that not only was she being abused, but that she acted out in self-defence.

Tom was smug with Belle this week after he managed to get his hands on crucial evidence. The police are looking for his iPad, as it wasn’t a device on the list given to them by Tom when they began searching his home.

Belle knew there was likely evidence that supported her claims on there and urged the police to find it. Tom managed to find it before them though and on Monday we saw him smashing it to pieces.

He was watched on by young Carl though, with him realising Tom did not want the iPad to be seen. Tom noticed Carl was acting weird in the latest episode and believed he’d scared him after having a go at him recently.

Carl admitted this was the case while he didn’t admit to seeing him break the iPad. Carl had been the one who’d taken the iPad previously before Tom realised and claimed it back.

As Tom returned from the shops, he had a gift for his cousin in the form of a remote controlled toy car. Carl was amazed, but Tom had one condition before handing over the toy.

Tom asked Carl to promise that the issues with the iPad were over, asking him to repeat the words: “iPad? What iPad?”. Carl did what he was told and agreed to stay quiet, meaning the only witness to the smashing up of the iPad and where it could be now is not going to spill the beans… for now.

So does that mean Tom will get away with it all and Belle could find herself in big trouble in court? Viewers are hoping Carl’s mother Nicola King might realise the truth, but this remains to be seen!
