Emmerdale spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (October 22) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.

Tom King (James Chase) took drastic action in a bid to regain control of the situation in which he’s found himself, reporting Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to the police for breaching her bail conditions.

Belle, as viewers know, was abused by Tom for the entire duration of their marriage, with Tom proving on a number of occasions just how twisted he truly is.

After a particularly frightening incident at a holiday cottage, Belle escaped from the abusive marriage and, after months of struggling, she bravely confided in her loved ones about what she went through.

The Dingles never doubted Belle for a second, making it quite clear to Tom that he wasn’t welcome in the village. Things escalated last month, however, when Tom cornered Belle at Wishing Well. Terrified for her life, Belle attacked him with an axe and came to believe that she’d killed him.

Tom survived and attempted to broker a deal, claiming that he would keep Belle’s name out of it when talking to the police in exchange for her to agree to stop telling everyone that he’s an abuser.

Unwilling to agree to such a thing, Belle reported Tom to the police for abuse – and subsequently confirmed that she was the one who attacked him with an axe.

Both the axe situation and Belle’s report are being investigated and thus Belle has been told to keep her distance from Tom.

But Tuesday’s offering of the ITV soap saw the former events planner so perturbed after receiving a delivery of red roses from an unnamed source that she decided to confront Tom about such a thing.

Tom slyly claimed that he had no role in sending the flowers, feigning concern for Belle over Zak’s (Steve Halliwell) recent death as he attempted to manipulate her into thinking that she’s not seeing things clearly.

Belle didn’t back down, demanding that he come clean but, in typical Tom fashion, he continued to feign innocence, walking away from her.

Devastated and confused, Belle threw the flowers at Tom’s back, which sparked a flashback to the axe incident for the abuser, who decided to retaliate by phoning the police on Belle, notifying them that she breached her bail conditions by paying him a visit.

The abuser took great delight in doing so as he spied on grieving Belle outside of Wishing Well as she spoke to Zak at his grave.

The question is: will Tom’s plan work? Will the police arrest Belle? And either way, can she make the authorities see Tom for who he truly is?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
